GMC Sierra Delco rewrite VIN

Hi guys,

I have a customer who had a burnt ECU in a 1998 GMC Sierra.
They bought a replacement ECU second hand ECU but truck does not start, security light is flashing.

Scan tool shows old VIN number from car ECU came out of.
I'm guessing I have to re-write the VIN in the new ECU or swap the old chip over.

I can't see any obvious chip that holds the VIN.

Does anybody know which one I have to swap over or how to program the new VIN into the ECU?

Hi, you can use TIS2000 or acdelco internet acces with j2534 or tech2 interfase, or keep key on ten minutes the security ligth go out then start the car (some cars need 3 cicles of ten minutes) to program the passlock you dont need change the VIN.
