Warning - and SAFE UNLOCK for G600

I picked the following up from an eBay review - I hope it will be useful to somebody AND PLEASE HEED THE WARNING ABOUT #*7337#

FREE SAMSUNG G600 UNLOCKING CODE DO NOT USE #*7337#
============================================

There are quite a few ebayers selling Samsung G600 unlock codes DO NOT BUY THEM, 99% of them are selling this code: #*7337#

THIS DAMAGES YOUR SAMSUNG G600 AND DOES NOT UNLOCK YOUR PHONE.

In fact it makes the IMEI number of your phone 000000000000000 This means that your phone WILL not work as all the networks have BARRED this number.

To unlock your Samsung G600 use the below codes, we have used this code for months in our shop and service centre and it WORKS and does not damage it:

Insert wrong simcard half way in, power on the phone.
With display showing insert sim,
fully insert the sim and enter EP2 full reset code *2767*3855#
Wait for 1 minute after phone reboots!

Phone should now be working with the wrong sim.

Now enter *7465625*638*00000000*00000000# Network locks personelized
Now enter #7465625*638*00000000# Network lock deactivated
Enter *#7465625# and see all locks are deactivated

No Imei damage, no clip needed !

[No intention to offend anybody who listed in good faith the #*7337# Code in previous mails]

i did all that, now my fone is stuck on a picture of a simcard and it says "SIM einsetzen", my fone was previously set to english, so this happened without me changing it.whenever I type in the number *#7465625#, it shows a menu with options like "Network Lock - Active", "Subset Lock - Inactive", "SIM lock - Inactive".
However, whenever i try to change the Network Lock, or any of them for that metter, it does not allow me, the only option is simple "Zuruck" above the right soft key.
I can't do anything on my fone so I would really really really appreciate if you could give me advice asap, as no other site has mentioned unlocking a g600. thanks.

The phone isn't locked as such -- it's just that the zero IMEI is blacked by all the providers............... I assume your getting the LIMITED SERVICE on screen message??

If you have the Receipt and the box with the IMEI number on -- try to find a Phone Shop that will re-instate it.... they may refuse as doing this is Illegal.... I know a shop that charges ?10 - but they don't guarantee that it will work......

Then get on to your Provider and beg -- just don't tell them you put codes in !!

The Peeps selling this 7337 code on eBay must be laughing all the way to the Bank...........

Sorry Mate -- you >MAY< have bricked it........

Good Luck

The IMEI is also on the sticker under the battery.

Just to correct the 'illegal' sie of this...

It is illegal to change an IMEI, but you can rebuild the original IMEI legally. This is seen as a repair to the handset as it is not changing the phones identity.

Any shop that can unlock samsung handsets should be able to restore the IMEI.

Can anyone help? I got to the point of 'Unlock your phone with new SP code #7465625*638*00000000#' and then the phone was showing 'limited service'. When I turn it on it says that there is an SP lock on, amnd is asking for a password. I only have so many attempts.

Any ideas would be gratefully received

I'm OK now, and a great big thanks to all those who posted correct instructions and sound advice about not using #*7337#. I think my problem related to using a very old SIM that's no longer recognsied. I put mine in and it's fine.

I used the old card on advice that you might risk donig soemthing bad to it.

Thansk again to all

Virgin use two locks; one locks it to 23430 T-Mobile and the second lock ensures only a Virgin SIM can work in the handset!

I have tried the bit below and get as far as now enter #7465625 etc, but I get "wrong password when I enter #7465625*638*00000000#, previously on Virgin now trying to use T mobile sim, or maybe Vodafone if that does not work. Are there different codes for each provider? #
Any help gratefully received. Itis obviously lockd to Virgin, so is there any way of getting full unlock remotely? Think Jim Mahoney seems to know the reason but can I get past this?

If the phone is turned off the process you followed to unlock it needs to be done again.

As I said earlier in the thread, take it to a shop for a permanent unlock.

Hi I've done this about 10 times now and my phone is still saying limited service

its just not worth it, best bet on any samsung is via real unlock code and just insert incorrect sim. or a hardware unlock.

with both of these methods there is not going to be any issues. and who needs phone freeze. unlock codes come with master code.

personally i prefer to unlock via hardware just a couple of mins and its done, but i do do a lot of unlock codes for remote unlocking when handset not present.

Limited service could mean the imei has been changes to all zeros.

If that's the case, it has to be taken to a shop for an imei rebuild

like i said stick to the correct 2 methods. it just is not worth risking your phone unless you have the tools to rebuild the imei
