iv picked up a second hand ecu
can anyone tell me immo off option please really need help here:blush:

If you try to do clone in this ecu is not posible, you can do immo off, but you must pay for job... i believe nobody have free solution for these ecus foe now. Ecuvonix have solution to immo off EDC17 of Vag Group.

There is no eeprom chip in tricore , all of it is in MCU.Plus you have to read Flash and eeprom to make Immo off.
No free solution.
I think you should pass this job to someone who knows about this.Do not get me wrong on this , but it seams to that you never seen or done this.
I do not want you to end up with other bricked ECU.
This ECU can not be read with Micky Mouse tool, you have to have very good tool like FG tech Galletto 2, Alien Tech or etc.

This is only adopting keys , which does not apply on your case.
I do not think they can do Used ECU. Most of the dealers can do only New ECU.

iv bought a used ecu exact part number all identical
and have given it to a mapping company to do a full clone with ktag
im hoping it will start when receive tomorrow

i have received ecu today put on car still no start .
i plugged in vag com and it says check sum error and demand from immo not auth and it says safe mode on dash but what i find strange the codes are dated for last week the time and date i put the first remap in .
i rang mappers and they said it had to go to audi for coding .
so i sent to audi and later tonight they phoned and said ecu is knackers check sum error
can anyone suggest what i can ask audi to do maybe reflash:?

You can not clone EDC 17 ECU :stupid:, there is a address with OTP (one time programmable) in tricore MCU and it is not possible to clone it.
I can tell you that company has no idea about this ECU.

Put original dcu with original flash. Then reflash ecu with vas
