peugeot 206 airbag module

hi i crashed my 206 and the airbags went off so i got other airbags and a module. but someone told me the module would not work and i would have to get the other one programmed to wipe the crash data.does anyone know if he is right thanks.

Is this module new or yours, old one? If its old one you have to wipe crash data.
if you have new module you have to take your car to a service and module has to be matched with dashboard and it will work without problem. It's not any kind of hacking it's standard service procedure. Or if you have diagnostic software you could do it by yourself, but i wouldn't recommend.

old one in car at time of rtc needs reprogramming to clear all data.

new one needs programming to your car and instrument cluster.

Either way...the module needs programming,resetting your own after airbag installation would be favourite ;-))
