I need to replace ECU in Z18XE - Opel Meriva. Please tell me:
1. Can I bought just any Z18XE ? From Vectra B/C, Astra, Zafira ? Is it just to reprogram ?
2. Must it be cleared ? I know security code for my car, will it be ok ?
3. Is VIN number stored in ECU and able to read it with TECH/OP-COM ?
Many thanks in advance

you must know code for new used ecu or buy logged out. if code is unknown can us carprog to reed the code. op-com can logged out ecu (must know ecu code) and then logged in using your car code.

it will work if you have tech2 and globaltis, so you can reprogram ECU to fit any car with same engine code...
...otherwise you must find ECU from exact car and year of producton...

vectra c have CIM and comunication it is with CAN, you need to copy eeprom with carprog, copy flash from broke ecu meriva, then write flash in ecu from vectra(with meriva flash),then write eeprom from meriva , And IT will work..:joyous:

You could buy a tech 2 cleared ecu, then you will only need the pin for the vehicle you are fitting it to. I have done this and used op-co to code it as i have no tech 2.

OK, I have checked. ECU loom is the same.
There are only some differences between Meriva A and Vectra C - such as :
Meriva has got fuel pump relay, where Vectra starter relay
Vectra uses 46 13 and 29 pin for cooling control module, Meriva uses 46 and 29 direct for relays
Meriva uses 5 and 14 pins for immo, Vectra uses 14 for instrument panel
Signals are quite similar in their characteristic (inptu/output). Is it possible it will work after doing SPS in TECH-2 ?

You can copy old one to new one using carprog.
have you tried this? I have only been able to copy immo data over, actual variant codeing of ecu couldnt be done with my carprog, could you explain how you did this?
