today i had a BMW 118d with 143 ps EDC17C06 and my Galletto V54 fail !!

did someone know what this error mean ?? look at the pic !

i can write ori file back without problem and car start.

this is not problem of the Galletto hardware ! Galletto V52 china and galletto v54 eu make the same error !!

i tryed with my Optican Flasher too and i had same problem !

Try to write without checksum correction. The tool should correct it.
Sometimes if you correct checksum tool doesn't write the file- I don't know why...

First checksum it with ecm titanium, then flash it; sometimes winols and tools can't do the right checksum, i have met this problem a few weeks ago and i solve the issue as i told you.

problem was my boot mode cable from galletto boot pin cable was broken in plug. there was no connection ! today i read the ecu with galletto and wrote the mod file via boot mode

all ok now ! car runs very good and no faults more !! it was a checksumm problem for sure ! but via OBD is this car/ ecu not possible only boot mode !!

No dongle or change clock on Win XP. Work with Win7 also.

I have also experience about tunertool.com tool, I bought from him tool, on CAN working good, tested on EDC16-17, also on mazda denso which requed new tool, but k-line not working, with FG china do that models on k-line without no problem. The seller told that my drivers from fg china because not working, but I tested on other PC without any FG drivers, and the problem is the same. The seller told me that him tested k-line before sending to me, but if it is a problem, I can send it back and him will repair it. But I don't what to send it back because I am working with it every day with newer cars which have CAN and also it is possible that if I send it back it will be no money and no tool, and it is too late to open a case in paypal. So my question, maybe someone can tell me, how can I fix k-line problem, which components I need to test and change that to have fully working k-line. Thanks in advice.

I have a problem. I install old FGTech 2 v.50-103 on other laptop with Windows 7 64 bit and work ... software start, schreen looks good, have voltage 13.00 volts. But in euro clone v.54 ( from car-prog ) I have a problem. I use START FGTECH.bat file to start software and data change to 01.01.2013 and software start but no voltage and I have " LOW VOLTAGE " indicator, adapter connected. Can you help me to solve this problem ?

I'm curious about this too! Because I read by OBD an BMW 520D EDC17 equiped, with Galletto v54, and no warnings when I read... But not sure about TP or not... did not need to write it... but curious to know if galletto could do it by obd or not? Also can it check if ECU is protected or not, before writing?

Sorry, I go straight to the bench on those ECUs and then galletto tell me if it's protected or not.
I tried some times to read by obd with Kess and don't allow me, just say tprot ECU use ktag protocol xxxxx

At kess dont know but at fgtech i had following situations (fw54): bmw read via obd-> try to write mod-> error (ori no problem to write)

At one vag he started to write and error-> ecu was dead -> tried with ktag/cmd and no chance


So i make every edc17 as from 2008 via bootmode as i cannot risk an damaged ecu.

They are called pogo pins, are retractile pins with a spring inside that put the presure on the pcb pads and help make contact.

any fg tool have R 1000 ohm inside the boot socket, you can test resistance between gray wire and black wire (997-1003 ohm approx)...if have R inside socket is useless to connect additional R on gray wire for boot

today ive made read of opel combo 1700 dti delco, when I went to reflash tuned file its saying wrong checksum and unable to erase ecu, now van wont start , can anyone help me, the same message comes with the ori file as well, so im screwed, does any one know what to do, ill enclose ori file for someone to check, even kess comes up with chk error, thanks

When you have a edc17cp14, you can read it, but you need to check if its tprot protected or not, if it is protected dont try to write over obd first you need to unlock the ecu, when it is not protected than you can write by obd, but best and safest way is in boot mode ;)

If ECU is still alive, reprogram it with GlobalTis.
If not... is time to replace it...

doesnt matter as long as the voltage is 12v,,,,,usualy at least 2 amp power supply

Mine are 1-->1000ohm, 2-->470ohm,3-->5600ohm,4-->260ohm
I have problem with k-line and with pcr unlock and read it via obd.
I saw that i have a wrong can bus controller.Mine is yp1050 44t but must be 82c250.
For the resistors i have cheched values from v53 and at 3 i have 680ohm.

the two green wire are not separated and are normally K-LINE or 12V (when you use tricore boot)

Measure resistance between gray wire and black wire to see if the gray wire has integrated 1k resistance as in the most cases is. You should find out this in order to avoid adding another 1k resistor for bootmode

Multi colored harness is not only for renesas. The smaller connector its useless. From older galetto and for older ecus.
You can use the big harness in that cases also

BTW do you have any experience reading/writing the Bosch MG7.9.8? The ECU is found in KIA Cerato. Documentation has only M7.9.8 which is different.

I found a picture/diagram in the internet and followed the connections but was unsuccessful. I use only 2 resistors (560 ohm) as I only want to read/write the engine.

Today i have tested one v53 and the values for smd resistors are the same with mine v54 at U10.1-->10ohm 2-->260ohm 3-->5.6kohm 4-->10ohm
Now near of the big first relay are four more smds group.The first one has 1kohmthe second 470ohm the third 680ohm and the last one 260ohm Mine v54 has different value on third one and it is 5.6kohm.The v53 working good with k line but v54 do not.Must change this smd?

I;ve just followed Your advice with what has to be changed on GALLETTO PCB - and now my v54 can read via k-line. for now I've only checked it on EDC16u1 and it works, previously it was only able to give me ECU ID - now I got full flash read and write on the table, I did comparsion of results with FLASH content got from BDM read and galletto gave me 100% same content when I read it with k-line

Obd for fgtech v54 no way, only original can do it and with virtual read from server. Only posibility its boot mode but didnt try it yet...

It's fine with c46. I suggest to use it with adapter as many resistors/wires need to be soldered. I have build it myself and it's life saving for this type of ecu.

the problem on MB are for some edc15 and edc16 are for all tools (genuine and clone), when you read via obd erase immo data on immo box and the best way to solve are with diagnosis

Only MS41 with eprom F200 PSOP44.
Some MS41, take eprom PLCC44, and can only be read with eprom programmer.
You need to open the ecu, and see what kind of eprom has.

I have EU clone 54 long time ago.works very good.
Only some edc15 vw,psa....not work, and some edc16 vw not read on k line but read on CAN and take long to read.
MPPS read on Kline ok,and read very fast.must be some SW bug.

i have question about the v54 Eu ! i use it ! but it makes me a little bit Angry that the Chinese V53 have newer software version 12/2012 with tool eeprom simos pcr2.1 than my v54 eu

is there now a v54 eu clone with this newer version out ?? or have all v54 eu software 9/2012

if not i think about to buy a v53 with newer soft or a ktag because i need this tool R/W eeprom pcr2.1

hello i have galletto v54 master china clone is working good with bdm jtag ,but i like to read and write vag car edc16u1,edc16u31 and edc16u34 is safe to do this cars over obd port thanks

always safer to do on the bench , lm sure it will be l would do full bdm backup on a few and test over obd , if its goes tits up you can recover
