This is gonna sound silly to a lot of you.

Basically I am going to go from a speedy 20meg fibreoptic connection, to a lesser 7-12 meg connection (moving from virgin to sly)... it wont affect my ability to watch my f3 box will it?

I doubt it very much as it is not the speed that counts its the quality of your internet connection line / Ping that counts

Top man. Didnt think it would affect it but slightly nervois considering I would be stuck with the new broadband provider for a year at least....going from virgin (20meg fibreoptic connection) to a worse sly connection which is 8-12 meg I believe, and everyone knows virgin BB is better. That's why im a bit worried but should be ok. thanks

Digicon is right. Speed not essential. I had my own home cs running from a dedicated clone modem, wasnt even half a meg. Latency / ping

I average 4.5meg. It's the latency/ping as others have said that's important.

As long as you BB is stable you'll be fine...a 3G dongle can keep up OK....only time you might have glitches is if your downloading
