If you can not reload the channel list again you will have to reflash your box. Also you dont say which box you have.

first try and format usb stick then get a fresh copy of channel list and see if the box will see the usb stick. hopefully you might be able to reload the channel list but failing that
U will need to do it this way http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f184/recover-dead-skybox-openbox-flash-using-serial-rs232-null-modem-cable-233298/ (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f184/recover-dead-skybox-openbox-flash-using-serial-rs232-null-modem-cable-233298/)
and yes you will lose all info.

Sounds silly but are you sure the batteries in your remote haven't just run out?

Sounds like the remotes the problem.
Try pressing the OK button on the box and see if it highlights anything.

If there are no channel on the box it wont because when you exit right back it would normally go to a channel and you aint got any. Follow the instructions below:
USB (with TP_PROG.dbs file on) into box
Right or left arrow to Tools
Press OK
Scroll down to Upgrade by USB
Press OK
The Top Line needs to be changed to Misc Files by using right or left arrow
Then scroll Down to Select & Upgrade
Press OK
TP_PROG.dbs should be highlighted
Press OK (Places a tick at the end)
Press Yellow Button.
When finsished (100%) Press Exit, Exit,Exit
Swittch box off remove usb switch box on.
If your having problems extracting the zip/rar fi le PM me an email address and I'll mail you the full file.

You didn't say if you tried reloading the channel list again (remember to reformat your USB stick) its stuck where it is because there is no channel list on the box.

What DW190 said but before doing that you might be able to solve the problem by simply doing a factory reset. If you have issues installing the list, resetting to factory settings should at least get you back to the previous list.

I've noticed that with Windows10 when downloading a file it goes straight to downloads without giving the option to save. Its only small at the bottom left of the screen and many folk miss the fact that the file has downloaded and try to download again. Now you get a second file that wants the same name but is auoto given the name with a number. 1,2,3,4 depending how many times you hit the download button. Putting any with numbers on the stick wont work. It must be the first or change it by removing the extra digits.
The file on the mem stick must be TP_PROG.dbs anything else wont work.

It can't let you out of the menu because there is nowhere for it to go, as you deleted your channel list before trying to update.
your box is working fine and isn't bricked it just has no channel list on it.
If you cant install a channel list from a usb drive, then there is a way to put back the list that was last there.
The way to get the old channel list back is to load the default Database:
On the remote select Menu > Factory Settings > Select Yes > Then Press Blue (Don't make any choices at the menu)
The screen will flash black and you will be back at the menu. If you check now all the channels you thought where deleted are back lol
restart your box and try updating the list again
