Hi All,
I am new to all this stuff and I am hoping someone can help me.
I have just got my F5S box but when I connect my Ethernet cable to the router it gives me a IP address but I cannot get any Youtube connection so I cannot use the box. When I look at the router admin page it shows that the box is connected at Half Duplex but I cannot Ping it.
Do I need a changeover cable or straight cable? Is it possible that the box is faulty.
Any help would be appreciated please.

Have you tried setting the IP to be static? A friend of mine had a torrid time with the skybox not picking up the new IP from the router when DHCP was enabled.

Hi, and thank you for your reply. Yes I have tried a static IP and then gone back to DHCP which someone had suggested on another forum when somebody had a similar problem, but to no avail.

Does that ethernet lead work when plugged in to another device?

Yes it does. In fact I have tried several cables both crossover and straight through but nothing works!!

Yes I have tried that also. In fact I think I have exhausted all avenues.
Does anyone know whether the box should be Half Duplex or Full Duplex?

I think that the box is faulty, so I will return I to the supplier. Thank goodness I bought it from a UK supplier!
