ok wired up with all resistors as in PDF,
can id all ok,
but when i go to read, says "remove and give POWET to continue" yes i know (Power)
now this is EOBD2 2012 sw, using V48 fgtech EU Clone - good quality,
what exactly do i remove,
normally galletto says ignition etc,
but this vague instruction not helping me much ,
EDC17 C46 TC1767

any one for future reference tell me what mr Galletto Means ??

thanks :>

You have firstly to read the TP password. Those ECU's have TP8 level pw so it must be read first and then you can go on to reading ECU.

so at what stage does it want pw ? as all i got was as above.
did take a look at TP password area,
can you take me through procedure.,

Thanks

nope my sw never prompted for pw, but then V48 tool, but eobd2 2012, sw, which has TP pw tables,
confused, now,
Id all ok, but no read, and i always read notes, not like yours no pw, mentioned,

-connect ecu with galetto but for kline 12v and no resistors.
-Use tool tprot v8
-press ID
-now the password is saved in file
-connect ecu with resistors and kline
-now you can read and write

thanks, and no where does it mention that in the shitty PDF, that i can see,
must be the crappiest instructions i ever read,,,,

You are using a clone tool to earn money....

interesting you guys say he should use tprot driver, but he never got a tprot or password error...

Lots of people are, but i don't think that is the point here. Pulsar2000 simply missed the page veloseeped posted from the manual while reading :)

Yea and the Instructions, Im sorry POOR English,
No t-prot error,
I read the red section, wasnt relevant,
and yes Clone But , E.U carbon copy of the real deal,
"remove and give POWET to continue" Remove What ????? Spanglish to me

Fgtech messages are quite confuse, i think, in this case, it means power off and on again the ecu. Like switch off contact and switch on again.

ominimicu

i dont thinks contact, because boot mode requires no power at all when activating, if any power is present when boot conections are made it wont bypass MCU hash check so wont boot

all you have to do is remove and give 12v and press ok. it means switch off and on 12v that feeds ecu!use the little switch you have to work your supply off 12v to ecu

ok i have a K-tag now, need to read and write this ecu next week, i wont bother trying fgtech,
whats procedure for reading this ecu please with K-tag sw ? i see only 2 pins to bridge, and one croc clip to 3rd pin on ecu, looking at k-tag info,
then wire at ecu connector as normal,
Now is it just as K-tag suggests ? or is there some voodoo Sh&T i need to do as t-prot, that they fail to tell me,
thanks in advance mates :>

so u link out 2 pins as shown, croc clip to 3rd point then connect at ecu pins or use special adapter ?

No need to access TPROT option then ?

I didn't need Tprot Option, just connect like documents say and it works,
if I remember there was 2 croc clip, Grey & Blue but in the picture I have just Grey that is connected to Bridge and other clip to the White soldered wire.
I know it isn't a CLEAN work but that resistors was for FG test and also other spring pins :)

so u using pogo pins ?
i was sure K-tag doc had 2 pins linked, and one to connect blue croc wire to.
Yours looks different to what i thought.

Perfect, just as i thought,,,,:top:
ok i try. v soon, will let u know,
u had no luck on Fgtech either ? with i remember 4 x1000 ohm resistors, and 6 solder pads, i think ?
did you use tprot to id 1st ?
then read under tricore boot ?

Yes I tried anyway wasn't able to read, ( don't know if my fault or Fg fault but on other Tricore didn't have problems )

i can confirm v1.89 k-tag clone wont do this ECU, i tried today as shown,
K-tag says cannot identify protocol,
100% connected ok, 1st i choose, vw passat bluemotion 140p,s
then i select edc17c46 tc etc.
i then read, it shows a screen saying select ecu, couldnt identify,
i select ecu again, Nothing,
No errors, just protocol cannot id,

Ktag 2.11
hw6.07
it read and write edc17c46 but u must chose from Protocol, not from car menu
when u have P199 u can read and write this ecu

I can confirm , have done it with clone Ktag with the protocol above and it works

How/where should I make the choice for the P199 protocol. I have Ksuite 2.11 with KTAG 6.070.
Been trying to read Superb 2010 CFFB EDC17C46 ecu but tool says "Cant ID ecu" then lets to choose other plugins. When I choose "199 - EDC17C46 IROM" then still same error : "Cant ID ecu"
Thnks
