My <new> Skybox F5S does not recognise my 1.25TB USB memory but does recognise an old 65MB stick and a newer 4GB stick. All are formatted exFAT. I know the instructions say FAT32 (a Win95 format), but that isn't an available option on our PC or laptop. In any case, FAT32 is only suitable upto 32GB total and 4GB individual files.

My question : since the F5S can obviously read / write exFAT USB sticks, is there a limit to the max size of stick it can actually read?

Peter.

more likely the brand/model of external drive.
My openbox wouldn't recognize a seagate drive that size until I stuck it in a different external case.

Thanks to everyone. Wally6529 : I have a 128GB USB 3.0 memory stick that runs in every gadget we have except the Skybox F5S. What brand is your 64GB?

Some USB memory sticks have odd internal memory structures that only PC's can really recognise properly.
Beyond 8 or 16 GB just stick with an HDD.
That said unless you plan to use the Timeshift recording or to actually record programmes just use a basic 2 or 4GB pen drive for the EPG updates.
