Keep saving for the likes of a technomate or vu+.....better flexibilty and internal hdd storage option so keeps usb's free.
The F5s is much improved with the updates all installed but its spoilt by only having 1 usb which now needs to stay in place for the epg.

There's also the Cloud ibox 1 which is a budget SOLO, make sure you get one with the built in fan.

No one has mentioned a blade 7000s. Are these boxes no good ? or are they just more expensive. I'm looking to buy a box myself so any advice would be appreciated. Don't think I would really want to spend more than ?300 but since I have a 3D TV I would like to have HD and 3D capability on the box

There is a new Blade 5000s which appears to be a cut down version of the 7000s do not confuse this with the older Linux enigma1 version blade 500.

Brand new model looks to be available from Jan 3rd check out the E of Bay for retailers

For ?300 you can get a VU+ solo 2 from Goldwafers....bought one last Sept Fantastic box.....not all that hard to setup
I had the F3 for 12 months before with all the hassle you get with the cheap boxes
since setting up the solo 2 ....never had a problem.......the downside is.....

If you only want it for 28.2E then its like buying a Spaceship & only going to Blackpool for your hol's
If your going for the full setup including a motorized dish its a must....you won't regret it for one moment

I guess it depends on want you want from the box......The solo 2 is more than a tv box....a lot more

I only want the box for that sat you just mentioned. I just want something easy plug and play preferably. I like my footy and have 3D tv so might as well be able to use the 3D. I have a KP A 780 at the moment and it does everything I need except HD and 3D

as footy is moving people may need a motorised dish to access them,so never assume as things are changing.

Where is the footy moving to. Is it not going to be on Sky sports. Or do you mean the actual sat.

Yes it will be on $ly sports.....

but depends on which match you want to watch......
if the game you want to watch is not on the uk sports channels

there are other ways to watch them...;) ;)

exactly it depends on what match and who has the rights to view, not everything is on one place. footy is not my thing so i go without.

Not my thing either.

It used to be a sport, now its just business.

I'm not actually bothered which teams are showing so long as there is a match on. I love my footy and will stop and watch a Sunday league game if I'm driving past a pitch and there is a match on. You find that Sky 8 times out of 10 show at least one top match per Saturday or Sunday or whatever day it is on. I'm a Middlesbrough fan so our matches aren't shown anyway and probably won't be until they get back in the Premier again, if we ever do that is. Anyway, the Blade 7000s. Is this a decent box. Obviously I know the only way to go is a proper Sky set up with Sky contract for all the channels especially the 3D footy but there's more to sat tv than Sky, even without a motorised dish. I'd like to keep things simple for now so was hoping to buy a box that is as near to plug and pay as possible. I would maybe add a motorised dish later when I have more time as my business is going mad at the moment plus tax return has to be in by 31st Jan.
