I've inherited an old F3 Skybox off my daughter and I assume the firmware has never been updated. Before I set it up with a new server, does it REALLY need the firmware updating as, although I've read the posts, I've never done it before and don't even know what a RS232 cable IS. I'm frightened of totally cocking it up.

a RS232 cable is whats used to connect to the PC, i am new to this also, but i cant see why you would need to do that, i thought upgrades were done via usb so i maybe be wrong

The only difference the update does is bring the tube and ~~~~ back to life.

Now if your like me you wont need to update.

I believe in not trying to mend things that arn't broke.
