I had that problem aswell, was about to package it to send back and decided to try it a last time and it worked :D

I think it is very sensible if you don't connect adapter/device/usb in correct order, which sucks. At least now I'm really careful with connecting order.

I didnt do anything. It was not recognizing at all, reading PID 0000 vid 0000 in device manager. Before I sent it back to repair I tested one more time and it came back to life.

No idea on how to repair. :(

Thats what I was thinking.
I did try to clarify this with support but we couldn't get to the bottom of it.
I have tried to buy the cable from a few suppliers but nobody is making them.

I had my cable checked by an auto electrician and he said it looked ok but the diagram that Abritus supply is hard to follow.

Any chance you can post a photo of your cable, especially the connection where the 510k resistor goes?

Im looking forward to invest in a solution for IR MB keys.
After seeing all market offers, just want to wait if Abritus finally release their solution. In fact they did like a week ago, but dont know why they delete it and took it away.
Have been told here they would present it in november 1st., but they didnt. Anyone knows please whats going on with their release??
Could it be maybe because others solutions already offered the way of programming without opening or desolder original clients key, and the solution the advertised for a day or two, still said that opening and desoldering clients key was necesary.
Are they maybe "researching" "developing" in such a way??

Would be nice to know before making up a choice.
And btw, where do I find prices for diagspeed, please?? they dont have in their web.

Yes, only the sticker is different. And I use it, well I dont have the white box, I have 2 black boxes. One to work with chipcs on borad, other is for kline.

Anyway, I tried the 3 softwares for the simontouch obd cable in a 2006 w221 but client was in a hurry, so he left before I did any serious test.

EIS software - tried can, obd, kline, no response at all.
ISM software - tried can, got some identification but not everything (vin missing, no buttons got enabled)
ETC software - tried can, got identification and hashes data read, didn't try anything else.

This was a very incomplete test made in 2 minutes, no conclusions can be made yet. ;)

I heard it should work with renewed eis and not with replacement, so you should work.
Ask him about the EIS OBD cable please.

They should work on Their typing first then fix their tool
I still think if you buy the tool ( which is the same ) from the legend u will get better support from Elie .
Or stick to noimmo tool the EVO which works great at least it does wt they say it does . Not just rumours

Mate after 2006 (MB Masters correct me if I'am wrong) all MB cars EZS are with MCU NEC and V57 !
Take a look of mehaco channel on youtube.
But if you allow me to advice you , wait 2/3 weeks because at the moment DIagspeed are making big improvment of their tool and you do not have the problem of token and their tool with new hardware that can read the pass by IR for all ezs with mcu motorola and you can also make key for BGA keys the last one for MB like w166 and its less expensive than mehaco and he can also make V51 mehaco can only do V57.
But still need feedback of people that use Diagspeed ,because I'am just reporting what the seller told me on skype (Diagspeed).
The keylessprog can prog keylessgo and also repair corrupted flash.

and the only thing you have to pay is for Token ,
( if you don't have the full pass service 2800 euro for 5 pass / day)
and 1 token = 50 usd, to calculate dealer pass,
if you don't have it already read from key if is with ROM 57,
please correct me if i am wrong ,
or maybe this 200 euro must pay if you have only the Basic Set .... but i haven't see this in manual

Lagas is talking about noimmo. Registration is 300 for 3 tokens. After that the price depends on quantity. From 50eur to as low as 35eur per token.

ive read this whole thread and still aren't really sure which device is best. I just want to add keys and replace faulty eis units. Have been talking a lot with the legend web and he is very helpful, but is hard to understand at times.

Just keep in mind that all tools require key pw in ROM 57 from working key,in Australia extremley
rare to find ROM 57 in W204 W212 etc. mainly these models have BGA inside key.

I have the same opinion, renewed w204 eis price + key price + time wasted doing the job is too much compared to going to dealer and order a new key. Only needs to buy the new key.

The latest dealer keys are often called "BGA keys". As far as I know, only diagspeed device can read "ezs password" from them. You can not reprogram them, and when trying to open it to access pcb (in my experiences), you will destroy it. :D
This is how common "BGA keys" look like on the outside: (I believe it is refered as w212 chrome key case)

Then there are some older NEC keys with ROM v51/v57. "Ezs password" can be extracted from these safely. You can also erased/write these NECs just like the even older NECs.
Usually they come in the older chrome key case keys (I believe it is refered as w211 chrome key case), but they can also appear in black plastic cases. The pcb can easily be removed from both versions to access the NEC mcu.

To know if they are v51/v57 NECs, you need to read the printer number in the 30pin ssop NEC mcu:
567897071 = v51
567897081 or 00040229 = v57
(Other prints means it has an older ROM version and that "ezs password" can't be read).

With proper IR programmer, they can be written/read/erased as many times as wanted.

I'm fully aware how much it cost me,. I was also told free updates for life. Yes for small stuff like better reading of eis by IR, different units tools etc come in the soft updates.. BUT

When password by IR was released, It came In the Software update, then it's asks for a licence which costs $$

When I bought it I was told the password search server for finding password from any car with BGA key worked perfectly, but now I have to send Roy 30-60 dumps from the key and EIS which takes 4 hours to do and then maybe a day to calc password and then no promise that it will work ..Imagine going to a car and telling customer oh I have to charge you ?1500 because I'll be here 2 days

I know George (wsc) and a few others have used the password search so I know it can be done, but if I had known it took a long time to do then maybe I would have saved my money, I could have bought a few cars and turned $8k into $32k, then bought it when it all worked 100%

I've got most tools, I like the way this tool works and I do use it nearly every day now. Here is what I know.
1, ECU renew - cdi4/3 Delphi crd2/3 Delphi Ced.11 Siemens 271lke/111lke and some others but not by OBD port even if no other things on CAN
2, ESL renew 204/906/all others well
3, ISM renew - it did it but cannot personilise or activate via STAR
4, EZS renew w204/169 only tried them
5, , read 57/51 NEC - only if its immaculately clean on top and bottom of chip legs
6, Keyless go key programming ok if NEC correct version
7, Dump editing tools are working and very good things to have but don't correct chks in dumps


I'll add to that list as I go.

I have recieved my diagspeed device 2 weeks before but never been able to test it.
I had 2 customers for lost key on mercedes class a w169 my 2006.
Ezs was kostal and i know that mcu is 9s12 inside.
I was not able to read ezs by obd neither by IR...
When i try to read by IR the scree keep saying WAITING FOR KEY.
i had a sprinter w906 ezs at shop.
I app 12v and minus to ezs and tried to read by IR but i get same message...
I have followed Roy advice to insert IR key after having launch read command but still no joy...
Any advice from Diagspeed users is greatly appreciated

9s12 is secure , so i guess u wont be able to read the full eeprom, so no password , not like 912 and 908 which are easier. roy should have mentioned this to his customers

It looks suspiciously similar to the MB Key Prog 2 EVO and MB IR tool.
And it writes SKP-Tech on the software but I fail in finding such tool on sinosells website or any other similar website.

P.S. The same guy also showed me some videos of a CNC machine HAWK which is supposed to be a new version of the X6/V8 machine but controlled by an android device.

For me only some company or seller are serious and their tool do what they claim: mercedesinstrument/mehaco ---noimo---ezs24.de
All other still need to make their proof in software and also in hardware .
Its my opinion :)

I don't understand why AVDI has not released their Mercedes upgrade yet.
I have tested the software and it works fine.
EIS read by IR adapter, ROM57 read by ABprog v4.
Calculations done by their server, everything works.

They do need to release an IR writer though.

Tested on W203 - I know the EIS doesnt have an NEC!

One of my friend had same problem using his mb key prog full he could not calculate correct key even with full ezs dump read by rosfar.

Take a picture about the chips inside the customer key and a pics about the new key that you need to program , sometime you need a chip with more memory.

I also got a few diff?rent key calculation to try from Diagspeed but does not work.
And for each key i put key 1 minute in ignition then 10 times in/out but with no success.

I agrtee, its a lot of money & there isnt a lot of independant voices saying it does what it says it can do. I personally am interested in buying it, but sinces its a few thousand more than simontouch, legendweb & mb evo, I want to be sure it does what hje says it will do.

Now for my weighing up options and from what i have seen.. Workshops here are just ordering esl from dealer with orange key and coding with star. For the lucky guys they quote 369 euro for dealer esl , 76 euro labour and off the customer goes.

The dealer here charges around 476 euro for a esl job on a W204. Again i pose the question is it beneficial to purchase tools of this magnitude and price if the easier solution will just be going to the dealer?

Lost keys for example towing plus dealer costs still out weighs what "WE" will be allowed to charge the customer. And for a extra weeks wait he can have the dealer order the orange key plus his new spare instead of a new ezs and key we would have ordered minus the callout and towing to our shop plus where does the labour come in. If i were a mb w204 owner and was told i now need a new ezs as a result of lost keys i will be towing myself to the dealers.

Im open to all critism but ive been monitoring the prices and tool developments against the dealer prices and yes praises to the tool manufacturers but how long and how hard do you need to work to get that 6500 euro back before you see a profit? What about the sonderhash price ? Where do you add that to be lower than dealers

Hi, i have bought this device Mb Key obd2 from Diagspeed and i can garantee to you that function with bga key, i have already program 2 second key and add 2 elv on car with bga key.My last it was an SLk 172 and it worked .

ascotauto, at present none of the solutions are feasible, the upgrade can do minimal changes to what you can do now. when you buy the existing kit, all you get is convenience. and when new development comes (reading bga keys) sure you will pay again for upgrade.... i read many things about diagspeed and i am sure it is not the answer yet. as i read through this thread and my own experience with the evo kit .... i feel mercedes instruments and nec57 is best options, these are serious business about their tools - diagspeed offer solutions on par with them and much cheaper.....but if i was to fork out that kind of money i would probably buy mercedes instrument....and if you want to justify spending this kind of money so you can turn a profit best will be to use the money to buy a few cars and turn it until better solutions become available...will be money better spent......:excitement:

im not wanting the latest toy, IM wanting to be able to do the current crop of cars with BGA keys. all of the devioces I am interested in dont do them except diagspeed. I am looking at the others and they all seem to be trying to do them, but cant at the moment and cant give an ETA on when they will either..........

Diagspeed latest video with BGA key is showing 04FC key which you can read hash and pass from to put into data of car. NOT keys that are active

from why I know, 04fc is an adapted, but non activated key with a motorola processor. would reading this be any different from say a 15ec or 15eb key?

from what I can understand from roy, to get the password, you read the key & send him the dump and he will send you the password in a few hours…..can anyone confirm this is how its done?……kinda worried=s me, with the time differences, i may have to keep a car overnight to do a spare key?
