Hi there,

the radio unit of my car stopped turning on the last months.
I have been searching around forums for a solution and everyone talks about a fault on the pcb. It is the same grundig unit as in the seat ibiza 2000.
Could someone point me to the right direction. I am an Electrical Engineer and i will do the repair my self. Before i remove the radio i would like to know what i am looking for. I drive the car everyday and it is cold, i dont want to drive in -5 celcius without aircondition.

thank you in advance.

Hi cuby,

thanx for the answer! I am about to take the radio out to check it! Should i look for a "cold" solder or for a burnt semiconductor?
Also which pins should i use to power it up on the bench?

Regards

This is a very common fault but it is not component failure. You should be able to see the fault
