I live in an apartment buliding and behind my tv ther is 2 sat inputs, sat 1 and 2.
im connected to sat 1 and everythings fine. just curious as to what the 2nd sat input is for as im sure there is only one sat on the building?

Have you tried connecting your box to the 2nd socket to see if it works?
You might have 2 feeds to the LNB for Sky+ recording.

Or, maybe you could run a sat cable from the second connection to have another box running in another room.

No i havent tried it, is that what the loop input on my skybox f5s is for?? if i run a cable from loop to sat 2 will i be able to pause and rewind etc??

You can already do basic pause, rewind etc. if you plug in an external hard drive or memory stick into the USB port on the F5s.
If you have a box fitted with 2 tuners, like the official Sky+ box, then you need 2 feeds to the box to be able to watch 1 channel while recording another.
The loop is an output, not an input. It simply loops the LNB input, back out to the loop connector.
