Hi, i got my new xprog but i have no clue how it works to read a eprom, i just got two plastics with pins and a board, should i solder these pins into the holes for them in the board or is there some other trick involved? ive tried putting the pins in the dip socket and just placing the board through the pins but then i get a error saying bad contact at pin 1,2,3,4,6,8.

im not actually trying to make it work with it lying apart like that, the pic is just to show what i got. i suppose the only way is to solder these pins in the holes on the board supplied. im a carprog user mostly so xprog is completly unknown to me and the user manual says nothing about this eprom adapter or how it should be used

you're right, you have to solder the pins in their holes, to read epromm have to weld it in place
