Hi Guys,

I wonder if anybody can help me, I have had a skybox f5s since September, it has been working great But all of a sudden yesterday, all channels say no signal, including 1-4 and my snr is 5% on all channels, it is connected correctly to the dish still, I am at a complete loss as to what has happened, also all of a sudden it is showing a totally wrong time – could the two problems be linked?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check the sat cable has not come loose at the back of your box or at the LNB end also make sure the cable has not been cut or frayed along it's length also has your sat dish moved for any reason wind or ball hitting it etc..?

further info, ive borrowed a friends sky box and that is also showing as zero signal so I am guessing it is probably a problem where the cable meets the LNB, I have a quad LNB, would it help if I undo the cables from the lnb, cut it about 6 inches back, rewiring and plug into one of the two ports that haven't been used, and im not sure if the dish has moved to be honest

Thats strange, as your mates box didn't work on your old dish/LNB either?

Bit of a coincidence that the LNB and box both went faulty at the same time. (It wasn't struck by lightening was it LOL).

Now that you have a new dish installed, could you try your friends box again, or take your box to his place & try connecting it to his dish.

well the sky guy tested the cable where it plugs into the sky box and it was showing 96%, could a dish/lnb fault have damaged the box?

It's unlikely that a faulty LNB would have damaged the box. They are normally protected against LNB failures.

well im all out of ideas, when i go into the menu setting and look at signal strength it has 10% quality and 33% intesity but that stays the same even when i remove the cable.

it couldnt be something else in the settings could it?

In the installation menu, you could check that LNB power is set to ON, & that Antenna setup is set to Universal (9750-10600). Both DiSEqC settings should be set to disable.

You need to check the box in one of your mates houses who have the same box running 100%. Just to be 100% sure its the box.

make sure your selected satellite is eurobird/astra at 28.2/5e and not any of the other likewise named satellites although im sure your channels would work if this was the case but just a suggestion
