Hi there

ME7.5.5 400BT
MK4 2003 Volkswagen Golf GTI 1.8T AUM

My EU V48 galletto mini can not read this via obd.

Why is this?
Is there anyway I can read and write this ecu?

Also the car has been previously tuned in 2006 by APR. Could the ecu have been protected by them?

I have been told I can do this in boot mode on bench?

Anyone got the instructions on how to do so?

Would really appreciate this as it is my personal car

Cheers guys

ME7.5.5 is 800BB/BT not 400

if it is APR tuned you can only read via bootmode, or else send the customer to APR to make it completely stock.

My Euro clone can read ME7.5.5 (800BT flash), but everytime i try to write it stop about 8~15% with error and block ECU (Had to bootmode it), the ME7.5 with 400BT, read and Write OK by OBD.

If your car has APR I suggest to sendo it to them and restore to OEM file... I heard you can flash original file, cicle ignition (some say you need to drive some Km) and you can flash you mod file - this process make your eeprom (APR mess with it) became "normal" again. (never tryed)

If I flash it in boot mode can I modify and write it back? Also anyone have the boot instructions and diagrams for this ecu ?

But it was tuned by apr in 2006. Surely they weren't able to have this locking feature then

Yes they were.

Ground Pin 24 of PSOP44 while powering on ECU to enter boot mode. You can read and write anything in boot mode.

If ecu was tuned by apr, first open it and look inside.
Maybe ecu was tuned using EMCS module. Than you have no chance to read dump over OBD or boot or change it until recover ecu to original hardware state.

Also, 2003 should be 29F800BB.

I was going to say same thing , 99% of ME7 ECU tune with APR was done this way.

i would open the ecu and check whats inside it....if the boar-d- hasnt been modded....then just perform a boot mode read....no need for the resistor-....just earth the boot pin and read........check the read- in winols or hex editor just to make sure all is good..

i had one a week ago with a mooded board....i had done a obd read....found a original and modded it....when i come to write it,it failed....so opened up the ecu and found the board modded....ecu ****ed...
