Hi everyone im after some help as im really struggling. I have a libertview f5s box. I have tried to flash it with the latest firmware and now even put the latest skybox firmwarte on it. the problem i think i have is that is only sees 33% and 10% signal strength respectivley. i have tried everything i can and i cant get it to find anything not even FTA and radio. can anyone help me. i have tried firmare updates everything i can find. ive tried pluggin the box in at friends and i have the same signal problem. im a complete newbie but quite technically minded with computers and this is doing my box in. I understand i might need lines or a ccam thats fine but i cant even get it to search and find channels. am i doing something wrong or missing a setting. please help me and show me the light lol

Are you connecting the satellite cable into the correct input i.e. LNB input and not the LOOP. It's an easy mistake to do.

what is the loop for?

what is the loop for?

When the box is in standby it loops the satellite signal to another receiver. For instance, I loop mine back to my Sky+ box as the second feed but bear in mind this only works properly when the Skybox is in standby mode.

LNB input is the one on the inside of the plugs on the back of box ( so not the outside plug ) as looking from the back of the box

Hi thanks for replying
ive tried it in both and having both connected. I think the person who lived here before had sky + or HD as there are two cables. ive tried plugging in one at a time and both signal still says 30% and 10% and finds nothing :(

Yea you should only have one feed connected to the box as it's only a single tuner box, connecting a second feed to the LOOP could give you the symptomns that you are receiving. The only other thing I can think of is to do a factory reset of the box to make sure that all the settings e.g. lnb etc are at their defaults but make sure you back up your files first.

ok cool i will try that, is there a list anywhere of what all the setting should be set at, also do i need to set anything in for the horizonal and vertical settings as its not a motorised dish?
thankyou

Sorry mate I can't think of anything else - you've stated that you've tried the latest firmware - have you tried putting AJ's or Sattv5's latest channel list on it which is available in the stickys? I'm beginning to suspect a tuner fault in the box seeming as you've already tried it in your friend's house. I don't know if anyone else has any ideas.

put a meter on the cable one at a time see if you get a lock on the satellite sounds like the dish has moved

Default settings should be:

LNB setting = On

LNB Power On

Antenna Set Up = Satellite Sky UK 28A
LNB Freq Universal 9750-10600

i dont suppose you can recommend a metre to use can you? Would that be the probem if im getting exactly the same at my mates house and we know his dish is fine as his sky works perfectly

Hi ive got all those perfect still not working. Im beginning to believe it must be a faulty tuner like the chap said above. Thankyou though, everyone, i really appreciate it

If you have same issue at friends house then is there any chance you can borrow their box (whether $ky or not) to double check that your setup is fine to receive channels.

If your friends box works fine at yours along with fact that your box doesn't work at his when his box does, means its likely a faulty box (maybe tuner).

bbb_uk is right....just borrow a box of any type and prove your dish and cables are 100%

Are you sure you have set it up to the right satellite. mine was setup to turksat. if not press menu and go to installation then go to satellite list. Find 28.2 and press ok then exit. Go to single satellite search and press ok on search if this Is the problem then voila
