I have a Tricore miniwiggler debugger as I need to find a way to connect to pcb so I can read Tc1796.

I don't understand pinout from debugger vs pinout from mcu.

Please someone how can help me?

Thats a big no no like that.Debugger is ICSP programmer, not like that.

soxten,

this is a bosch ecu?
I am interested in exchanging information with you, I'm trying to do the same procedure in some ecu that use this processor.

That programmer should be used in system as it says. You don't desolder chip and connect it to the programmer.

this is a bosch ecu?

Bosch ECUs hasn't DAP connector on board only custom pinned JTAG.
To explore bosch controllers you must use JTAG connector on miniWiggler.

The Infineon TriCore devices support two different kinds of debug protocols: JTAG and DAP.
JTAG (Joint Test Action Group) is a 5-pin interface, a state machine and a serial communication protocol
defined by the IEEE Standard 1149.1. Please refer to the standard for more details. Currently all available
TriCore devices support the JTAG protocol.
DAP (Device Access Port) is a 2- or 3-wire interface and a telegram-based communication protocol
promoted by Infineon. It uses a checksum to ensure the correctness of the transferred telegrams in both
directions and so allows to detect transmission errors. DAP is initially supported with the AUDO-Future
family (TriCore v1.3.1), e.g. TC1767 and TC1797, and all later device families. DAP defines several modes:
? A two-wire mode with one clock line (DAP0) and one bidirectional data line (DAP1).
? A three-wire mode with one clock line (DAP0), and two data lines (DAP1 and DAP2). The
direction of these signals can be uni- or bidirectional, depending on the various sub-modes.
It depends on the TriCore device, the debug cable and the debug connector which debug protocol can be
used by the debugger to communicate with the device. The three-wire modes are currently not supported.

Below is Bosch MEDC17 JTAG pinout and picture "how it looks" on one of real boards.

TC1796 doesn't support DAP debugger. Only JTAG is possible.

Yes! mcu MUST be on ecu/pcb, correct!
BUt I need to find connectiong points from mcu and to pcb so I can connect miniwiggler by 10 connectors JTAG.

miniwiggler can read this on ecu.

Can I use JTAG pinout as pictures?

Do someone understand how I can connect to JTKG on PCB?

easy to connect
pin 5 VTREF
pin 10 RESET-
pin 5 GND

pin 4 TCLK=DAP0?

BRKIN?
TMS?
TRST-?
BRKOUT-?
TDI?
TDO?

Do you read what is wrote above?
Where you found DAP0 pin on JTAG connector?
Don't touch DAP cable and let it away. Use 20-pin connector (Auto-20 compatible).
Take miniWiggler datasheet from infineon site, read it and your questions with pin names are gone away.

10-pin is DAP not JTAG !!!
JTAG is pins at edge of miniwigglers pcb.
It's different things

Ok, should I use 10pin from wiggler?

If you know how pinconnectuon is please help.

It's wiggler version V2.
Datasheet is for version V3.

And now I try to run DAS program.... And when I start I get "DAS Errors Device_data"...
What is wrong now?...

3 and half questions
1. What software you use to read Tricore over DAS?
DAS itself is only "driver" and can't read or write be alone - it waits on commands from tool software.
2. What shows "DAS Device Info" window?
3. What ECU board is usin for tests? Are jumpers on ECU board JTAGs lines are "ON" (shorten)?

Oki so DAS is not a reader program... Hm... Wtf....
What program do I need to read tricore?

I have connect wiggler to vw passat ecu 2011 on jtag as you show me.

Looong way to learn this tool... :))

Doesn't exist ready to use tools to read tricore - must write it ;-)
You can try to test your DAS/wiggler/targetECU system workability using infineon's memtool software.
At least you can test connectivity and some command functions.

Bro
I send you PM
Did you find what Vref is for pin 9 of the DAS conector ?
For bosch ecu edc17

In the end what was the result ?
I have similar issue im trying to read the same IC but in Continental unit that no one programmer support the device but the CPU is the same and i need just a bootloader. Im planing to change bad tricore but i need the bootloader to initialize the device and then server will write the firmware. BUT can not read that CPU any luck ?
