Screen works, with a flashlight you can read it, input the code, the unit opens, etc. I checked the ribbon cable, no visible damage. I then replaced the entire LCD with a tested working unit, still no backlight. Any tips where to go next? I'd rather repair it than just replace the main board.

Thanks guys!

Buy an universal inverter for CCFL tubes ,the cheapest one and put it inside the unit ,it is the easy way or go to an electronist to repair the main board inverter.

I was told the inverter was part of the screen assembly. If this is the case, it has already been replaced. I was hoping for a simple repair before digging into it, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I need someone with knowledge specific to this unit (192, RNS-E manufactured in 2005). I have hot air, SMD experience, and an IR station.
