Guys, is there some rule which one (year?) of Clio III uses PCF 7946 and PCF 7947? I will have customer with that car next week and was thinking of getting 2 types of keys. I will have Clio III 2008. Thx.

If you have a secondary key, read zed,
you'll see if 7936, if so takes 7946 pcb,
in my country, south america.
Clio3 (7946) (key valeo)
except clio mio2013 (key vachette) (7947)
Regards.

The original key with 2 buttons have 7947 and with 3 buttons 7946. on clio 3 you can program and 7936 without remote.

But there are also 3 buttons 7947 available for sale with VA2 type. I don't have key in hand, customer is some kilometers away from me so I cannot check which type is it. Friend will send me both types to be sure but just wanted to know difference for the future. Thanks for replies friends.

clio 3 with 2 buttons have 7947
clio 3 with 3 buttons have 7946
both key works on clio 3.
If you want on key with 2 buttons you can add very easy and 3 buttons. just solder a switch. with true code you can enable the 3 button on the car very easy.

Yeah I knew that there is possibility to work with soldering a PCF and replace plastic for 3 button type but just wanted to know the basics because thought that there might be difference in type of PCF by year of car production and not by button amount. Now all is clear. Originally 3 buttons = 7946 and 2 buttons = 7947. That's what I wanted to know :). Unfortunately I need to use 2 tokens on my MVP to program that key. I got Renault Explorer 1.5 but it not supporting Clio 3 :/

Thanks!

i think now mvp need only one token for pin and programme. I have mvp but i never use it for renault. i prefer true code.
a friend programme a card on megane 2005 with mvp and tell me he cost one token.

MVP only uses one token to program the key unless you want to read the pin 1st.

That Clio proved to be a Clio 2 but I got another question. Can I use for the Clio 2 remote like in Clio 3 with 3 buttons and PCF 7946 NE73 blade? One of the sellers say that this type of key (NE73, 3 buttons PCF7946) is for Clio 3, Modus etc. but as I know that cars already have VA6... I thought that there are some rare cases with that NE73 blade but seems not. So can I use that Clio III 3 buttons PCF7946 NE73 for the Clio 2?
