hi allI was just wondering when we remove the hu66 profile key door lock from its housing on vw ,skoda cars, when you put the lock back, why is the external door handle, sticks out a little bit? I.e they are not the same level.
Usually i get 1 in 3 which the handle sticks out, any remedy/fix is greatly apreciated.

When you screw lock then handle should be all time in open state.

Thanks outofan, when the lock is inserted and the screw tighten, it looks as if something should pull the handle inwards a bit, but as I explained the door handle stays out little bit, I was just wondering how to fix this, I think this happens when the lock is out and door handle is pulled to open the door.

The only time I ran into this, the little plastic piece that is kind of like a gasket was not set exactly right. I don't know if you know what I mean, it is just a little rectangle piece of plastic that fits around the base of the lock just one way. Don't know if that helps any :joyous:

nazz when you take the lock out are you pulling the handle out first then undoing the screw then when you put the lock back in and screw it up the handle flicks back in

That's a point keygargoil, I usually undo the screw, then pull the handle , then I pull the lock out, do I have to pull the handle out first, then pull the lock out?
Camlegd, I think I know maybe what you are saying if you look inside there is a plastic u shape clip, which is to the right of the bottom of the door handle,is it this one? how does it clip to the bottom of the handle? as you all appreciate lots of bolts to take out on skoda and Passat!.

Yes, that's the one that caused me problems. It doesn't really clamp on, it just has to be in the right position to allow the handle to seat properly. Passat is the one I had the most problems with.
