Hi

I have set up a dm800 using black hole & a VU+ solo using pli jade 4.

To remove talking over films etc I have to press audio button to remove it on almost every flippin channel.

Can someone advise where in the settings do I set it to english ac3 by default please

with thanks

Usually found in setup system av settings.

tried both boxes, no joy

what settings do I change

on dm800 (blackhole) I have the following, with quite similar on the vu+

ac3 default = yes
ac3 downmix = no
general ac3 delay = 0
general pcm delay = 0

tried changing ac3 default from yes to no but still the same

any idea what to do now please?

I should've said under menu>setup>system>auto language. lol
Audio 1 = English
Prefer ac3 track = yes
Audio set by service = no
sure it's dolby setting in bh

Restart box and should be ok.

Thanks but sadly that makes it worse (no sound at all)

On the plijade (vu+) I have followed your advice and rebooted and the sound went off then I did the following:

Audio 1 = English
Prefer ac3 track = no, rebooted (no sound)

Audio 1 = None
Prefer ac3 track = yes, rebooted (no sound)

Audio 1 = none
Prefer ac3 track = no, rebooted (sound but still have audio description problem)

Below is the whole screen as default with the audio problem. (also it occurs on mtv and when selecting audio it shows it is on mpeg2 with 3&4 an option, selecting the 4th option (english) works until a change of channel

-------------------------------------------
01. Audio Language Selection 1 = None
02. Audio Language Selection 2 = None
03. Audio Language Selection 3 = None
04. Audio Language Selection 4 = None
05. Prefer ac3 Track = No
06. Prefer Audio Track Stored By Service = No
07. Subtitle Language Selection 1 = None
08. Subtitle Language Selection 2 = None
09. Subtitle Language Selection 3 = None
10. Subtitle Language Selection 4 = None
11. Allow Subtitle Language To Equal Audio Language = None
12. Allow Subtitles For Hearing Impaired = No
13. Prefer Subtitles For Hearing Impaired = No
14. Prefer Graphical DVB Subtitles = No
15. Prefer Subtitles Stored By Service = Yes
16. EPG Language Selection 1 = None
17. EPG Language Selection 2 = None

Changing option 1 to english (no sound)
Changing option 5 to yes (no sound)
That's option 1 on it's own, option 5 on it's own, or both together, all give no sound so I can not check if audio description is now off.

appreciate further help

Sorry to hear your still having probs I'm literally heading off on hol for week i'm sure you'll crack it before then though. Did you make your own bouquet list or have you downloaded one? I'll read up on this when I come back.

There are only 2 tracks on most of the Channels on 28.2? east which are NAR and AC3 so selecting to prefer AC3 to yes is the correct option also AC3/DTS Downmix should be set to Yes as well

After changing what you have already been advised to the go to system settings and select auto language selection and set language 1 as English and none for the rest if using only 28.2 or if using multi sat set language 2 as original and language 3 as undetermined (not all images give you option 3)

Ok

so I have to do the following:
Audio 1 = English
Prefer ac3 track = yes

rebooted and no sound so I do not know what else to do

I never had this with the vix image so it must be plijade issue.

also on the dm800 bh image there is not a "auto language" option in the menu so can't cross reference bewteen the do

driving me nut's this is

You should also have use prefer audio track stored by service as no and in av settings dolby digital/dts downmix as yes and aac downmix as yes if it's their. Aac isn't always
