Hiya.

I am using my new spangly computer to convert/re-encode TV programs so my son has something to watch in hospital (No TV's in area where he is - nor reliable wifi :blue:)

I have my Vu+ Duo recording programs he likes, and I use the computer to convert/re-encode from the mega large .TS format on the Duo to smaller .mp4 files using the fantastic Handbrake program.
I then copy these onto micro SD cards that he can put in his Sony PSP and play them.
This works fine - and has for a while.

BUT, for some recordings (an example being Futurama on Pick TV, which he loves) the recordings come with the "Audio Description"/AD audio stream in them.
On the Duo you can select the non AD audio stream to play on the TV, but I can't seem to find a way I can see to prevent the AD stream getting on the recorded .TS file. Can this be done??

There is no way to stop these playing on the PSP from what I have seen.

I also can't seem to be able to find the right setting on Handbrake to only rip the non-AD stream despite me playing with the audio options.

Any help appreciated, for my sons sake

I have never used Handbrake as such so have no idea but i do know programs such as ConvertX will allow you to choose different audio tracks and subtitle tracks

As i told you else where you cant stop audio streams etc from being recorded via the receiver as it simply records the whole .TS stream as broadcast by the provider, there are a number of third party programes that can rip audio out of a .TS file.

Try tsMuxeR_2.6.12 for removing alternate audio / subs streams and h264ts_cutter_v111 for cutting out adverts etc.
