been out of the game for a while... this is a 09 acura tsx computer 77960-tl0-a012-m1. i have done a few honda with 95640 chip, mainly 09 civic...for those i have read and programmed chip in circuit with testpoint i have found on bottom of computer for pins 1-6 and then i go direct to chip for pins 7,8 with wires then connect other end of wires to my prog... i have tried this with this computer and no luck so far. can this unit be read and programmed in circuit? is the dot on the top of the chip still pin 1 or pin 8? any help or suggestion will be gladly appreciated, and if anyone would like a diagram on the pinouts i have found for the 09 civic 95640 just ask... thanks

Dot is still pin 1 and I normally connect direct to the 6 pins that's needed right on the 95640 chip..takes me 5min the most to connect to them to read and reprogram.. What is your average time btw?

i could do the civic with test pins in about 10-15 min soldering time, 5 more for read and reprogram, minus binary 000 time... what 6 pins are needed or what two arent if you could? and im assuming you solder to chip with wires to prog'r, or are you using a test clip?
and pin 8 is opposite pin1, and pin 5 is opposite pin4 if i remember right?
thanks for your reply either way...

I don't solder anything at all. I use probes. I connect to pin 1,2,4 and other side 8,6,5 on chip

thanks txshaw for all your help... i was able to use the testpoints i found on the back to connect and read and write the 95640. i did not need to solder to the chip... if you turn over the unit you will see the many little testpoint dots, you can use these and solder to them if you do not have a probe...(not saying txshaws method isn't the best as i believe it is the best way, but i do not have the probes he is talking about...just so others know that it can be done with soldering and not to the very tiny chip.) and txshaw if you have a link or a brand name for the probes i would be interested in that info...as it is a much better way and safer for those not good at smd level soldering work...
