ON TOPIC:-

get a 55 watt globe (if your aystrailan) or bulb if your inglish, use it to check for power on the thicker wires

updated to a multi meter a few decades ago :)

haha, should also have a test light though as bias voltage will give incorrect reading on a multimeter from ECU ect.

Second above post, assume your problem is a grren and flaky plug or wire under the hood, you will either loose voltage or got no voltage (iShit hate it)

And a good multi meter and knowing how to use it will still show this problem (volt drop??)

Still, there is a place for a test light/LED tester, quick and easy to use.

Sort of, as its frogench we assume theres a rotten wire, thats allowing enough voltitude through for led/ meter but not enough for a globe

thats why you test under load too :)

Easy to find this type of fault with meter I think?

No, meter draws naff all wont show high riestanse. If you measure voltage either side of a globe you get same reading

readings with meter were fine mate, as i said, i also use test lights/led and there is nothing in the world that could have tested and shown this fault.

You don't need multimeter if you have high tech, friendly user in world's best website that can help you with precise solution. (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f152/clio-non-start-407563/#post2252987)

Yeah Meat, but that wasn't a cheap voltmeter. That was an expensive meter that our bosses will never buy for us.
The maximum voltmeter we could have is the kind you find in 1Kg Easter egg or inside the 8.55 kg Ariel (http://www.ryman.co.uk/Catalogue/Ryman/large/global/images/main/51/5101040000.jpg) or Henkel detergent bin. :top:
