hi guys, ive got a VW caddy 2007 1.9TDI and ive been having ago at changing the mileage on it, with no joys

i bought vagtacho with no joy
vagcommander with no joy

so i went back to basics and got the willem chip programmer out, and i took the clocks out took it apart and found the 24LC32A EEPROM chip and did a read from it and put the file into the program that came with the willem chip programmer to read the HEX...... i looked on tachsoft and its says caddy and golf V with 24c32 chips should have the tacho in on lines 800 - 810 but as you can see from the file i grabbed its just full of FF's which are blank lines....

i then thought id use licznik whiich came up with the same info....... so i thought id try every VW model to see if it came up with any sort of mileage which my dash reads which is 167000 odd miles, i even tried looking for it in KM's which would be 269000km but couldnt find anything even close

now i do know that 2007 VW's had the immo4 immobilizer and some of the dash correction tools seem to start from 2007 or only go up to 2007 for VW's so i dont no if its more compilcated than i first thought or the code in the hex is on a different line than what licznik and tachosoft says

do you think maybe ive misread the chip wrong in the first place or am i looking on the wrong lines?????

or if anyone can just change it from 167000 miles to 162000 miles and send me the file will be fine

thanks for any help
adam

yep your rite lupu, file was corrupt...... i got a constant read on the board so i thought it was reading fine

i took the 24c32 eeprom off the board and reread it with a very good read, put the file into licznik and it finally came up with the 269000km i was hoping to find........ it made a good flash with the new 261808km and licznik read that well aswell, but when soldering chip back onto the board and reinstalling the dials, the mileage went straight back to the 269000km (162000ml) i think it was 150miles off the original mileage before i started to adjust it. ive included the eeprom file

so im thinking both ECU and dials have to be flashed together and most probably will be better done with a proper mileage correction tool

i also did try to do an ECU read using an edc16 flasher that i no works on edc16 alfa ecu's but it didnt want to read it, but that might be down to the fact that the ecu as been remapped so it might be locked out..... im going to try again with galletto 1260 and MPPS tomorrow

if i do manage to get an ECU read do you no where the mileage will be stored in the HEX ????????

oh and to answer your question lupu_sandu the micronas is the later cdc 3272G

any idea what the best process of changing the mileage is on the later VAG's or is there anyone around the midlands in the UK that can do it????

you sure about that????

you most probably know more about this than me, but ive already tried changing the mileage in the 24c32 chip and when reinstalling it went back to the original mileage give or take 150miles, so im assuming its stored else where, or have i changed the milage wrong????

this file is off the corrected mileage to about 162600miles if you can check it out

thanks

this is my mirconas and eeprom chip

mileage i read with licznik in KM which does confirm the 167000mile

i changed the mileage to 162000miles but it went back to 167K after i installed it
