Hi,

I've been trying to figure out how to install a new dash in my Polo 2010. It's factory fitted with a Johnson Control Instrument dash, that i want to replace with a VDO.

To make this happen I've managed to try finding the Immo code with Magic Dash X-can and VAG-Tacho - no luck.

Both gives nothing. Access denied or similar.

As I've understood I need either the PIN or the IMMO code to install the new VDO - what is the shortest and cheapest route to achieve my goal?

You no need a PIN. You need a good device to clone IMMO DATA

Hi thank you for answering and helping - which device is a good device? - Do you have experience with a certain tool that will work with JCI in a Polo 6R?

you need to read the immo block vin, pin, cs and mac from the old cluster and transfer it to the new cluster
i use avdi for mine

Hello.
1) yes above friends idea are correct, but don't forget to disconnect ABS connector before writing (immo data) from old to new,if not so need online ABS coding.
2) must be power class the same like old ecu 2.

Hi,

Thank you for replies - very helpful. I will have a look at AVDI.

@haroutioun: Same power class? - What do mean be same power class. The ecu's used across the model doesn't change hardware, to my knowledge.

Hi.
the power class it present in flash dump of engine ecu + in (immo data = instrument cluster ) so i mean when you write the immo info in new used dash u must correct (power class 2 digit) if it is different.if it the same so no problem.
