VAGTACHO will not WRITE new mileage to Audi mk1 TT cluster, other tool?

genuine v5 vagtacho does not seem to write new mileage to audi tt mk1 cluster.
read eeprom is ok, vagtacho says write new mileage ok, power cycle, but when power cycled cluster still shows original mileage.

what tool/software will write mileage to audi tt cluster?

Hi.Are You able to post dump from tacho?.Maybe you need change manualy and write back to dash.Ive done that before but with old VagTacho 3.0.What type of cluster this is nr etc?

i am powering the cluster on the bench and have left it powered off for over an hour and it still does not take the new mileage.

i want to reset to 0km. i have the dump with 0km already but vt will not write full e2p either.
id try manual mode but im not sure of correct address. vt seems to show a ram address, 0x38xx.

vagtacho maker says he can add support for this dash but requires dash for 1 week time.

Hello i know it is an old Thread but i have exactly same problem with a Audi a3 2002 ! i use vag tacho 5.0

I can read the eeprom and shows the right km but if i want write new km its says its done ! but nothing written.

how can you save the eeprom ?? i cant save the dump, i can only show it in buffer ! is there a possibility to save the dump to a bin file ??

The tacho number is 8L0920900L

i have orig vag dash tool ! it cant read and write on this dash ! i tryed TT dashes it can write but not read ! i read this TT dumps with MM73.exe and write the dump with vag dash tool ! but on my audi a3 this will not work !

that i can not write the full eeprom file is really bad ! i can do manually change the mileage ! but i cant write via obd the file !

I read/write hc912 with carprog.(only 4 joint to solder)

some of these tt clusters are really tricky indeed power off for 2-3 minutes
and try programming various sub-100km mileage (13, 17, 44, 56km) most of time one of them works
and then can adjust with vcds
