Is there a Lishi for the Smart Car 450 1999-2007?

if its the fourfour model then it will be the lishi HU56 tool for volvo/mitsi on this year

if its the fourtwo model then its a silca ym23 key and there is no lishi for this one as yet

the smarttwo model uses the va2 key and pick on models from 2007

so if a non laser key it will be the silca ref YM23 key , so no lishi available for this one

if a laser key it will be hu56 lishi on fourfour all years , or va2 pick if fourtwo model 2007 .

So for the ym23 key how are people doing lost key situations on these cars? Remove the ignition and decode the wafers?

remove lock and decode , impression it or obtain key code , personally id strip or impression it

it certainly does , and consolidates the need for those old fashioned dinosaur skills that auto locksmiths and locksmiths used to have , back in the day when a job took longer to complete but rates were far far greater and workloads bigger as every baker and candlestick maker didnt offer car keys as well , saw a van today , plumber , joiner , locksmith and ironing service .
