ok ive been playing with my standard dash in my 2007 caddy as you might of seen with good results, and as my stardard dash is a lowline one ive gone out and bought a highline golf dash that im intending on fitting into my caddy case

ok now as ive already plugged in into my caddy and all seems to be working fine so im 99% sure i can get it to work fully, but of course the SKC is needed so i can do an adaptation with VCDS so the immo works properly

ok so as my caddy dash has the micronas 3272G chip i was told that most info was stored onto the eeprom 24c32 chip, and was also shown a good free site that gave me all my vin, mileage and SKC just from the read from the eeprom 24c32 chip, so i assumed if i bought another 2007 dash the micronas would also be the same as mine and i would be able to get the SKC from the 24c32 chip and do the adapation with VSDC.......... well after buying it and opening it up ive found that the new highline golf dash has a cdc3217 micronas chip :( but i still read the eeprom chip just to see if i could retrieve the SKC anyway......

i tried the file i read from the 24c32 eeprom and used the free program from ELDB Electronics (http://www.eldb.webuda.com/calc_vdo.php) to see if it gave me the SKC but with no luck.....

ive tried using Xprog software and cdc32 OBD software to find the SKC off my file but they only seem to work with hardware that goes with them...

So basicaly im after the SKC/pin code from the new golf dash i bought and also it would be nice to up the mileage to meet my current mileage in my standard dash (162800miles)....... ive included the golf dash file from the eeprom 24c32 chip....... is it possible to change the mileage and retrieve the SKC just from the 24c32 eeprom like i could with the micronas3272 chip, or do i need to do a read on the micronas aswell now????

are there any programs that can just read a static file thats saved and read the SKC and mileage, or do i always need the hardware aswell????

any help is welcome as im ready to swap my clucter over ASAP

regards adam

Hello.
1) this kind dash u can't get pin code by eeprom (24c32) u need to read micronas memory 2,too have your pin code.
2) about your need above, the best way to read or to get full info it done by obd2 = pin + mileage &&....
3) but if you load here eeprom + micronas memory we can get pin + change you needed millage.i hope i give to u little info can help u.

ok so what route should i take now????

do i buy a VAG obd mileage reader like supervag plus
do i get a cdc32 reader
do i get an universal tacho reader
or do i get something like Xprog to read all chip types????

is there anything i can make or maybe change an OBD cable i already have to read the dash coding???

When you plan in future make more work like this best solution is to buy proper tool for work via obd2. In my opinion xcan is number one for it. When you will make only this then buy cloned xprogm.
