Peugeot 407 ABS ecu replacing

Hello all,
I have a 04 407 with a faulty ABS ECU made by TRW
Can i use a 2nd hand one? are they vin coded? if so can the vin coding be changed?
I opened old ecu and it has a 24c01 eprom, does this hold all the vin data?

When testing,see if you could make any adaptation with your diag. tool.
About eeprom read it,to see data inside.You could program or swap with new one.
