I have a 2003 1.6 petrol Picasso whose instrument cluster goes off / resets itself ? (not seen it do it myself) intermittently, its not the clocks as it has had 2 set fitted. Also, just about everything else has been changed as far as I can see except the BSI. The customer has now informed me that the wipers and headlights can do strange things when the clocks do their thing. Sounds like the BSI to me. I have a BSI from another car of the same year but swapping the 95160 eeprom doesn't work. It must be different firmware in the replacement BSI.

The numbers on the two BSI's are:

Original s118085320 9649627780 (ORIG95160.bin) PIN F7CM

Replacement S118085320 9650584580 (SY95160.bin) PIN L39J

Both PINs were calculated with PBSIcalc (using 206 2003/2004 95160). Afterwards I found the code card for the vehicle confirming F7CM as the PIN for the original BSI. Can someone confirm the PIN for the replacement is correct and possibly extract the VIN from the dump.

With Lexia I did try to enter L39J into the replacement BSI but it didn't work. The question is - whats the best way to go about this? Do I virgin the replacement BSI (if someone could virgin it for me I'd be grateful - or do I just fill the 95160 with 0xFF) and try that with F7CM? Should I have just fitted the replacement BSI and used F7CM?

On another note, the original instrument cluster is the single plug type and has a small daughter board connecting the loom plug with the clocks socket using a short lead. Both the replacement clusters that have been fitted seem to work ok with or without the daughter board fitted. Anyone know what its for?

If someone could confirm the PIN, get the VIN and maybe reset the SY95160.bin dump I'd be grateful. Any other pointers gratefully accepted.
