Hey
Patient:
2002 Peugeot Partner, 2.0 HDI, Siemens SID801 Ecu
Symphtoms:
- car was turned off since then refuse to start
Info and what was checked:
- ECU + BSI synchro (unlocked) - not starting
- switched even ECU with immo off - not starting (checked if the impulses are given to injectors with resistor + diode - it's blinking)
- switched 4 injectors - not starting (they're buzzing on ignition on)
- camshaft and cam synchronization - YES
- high pressure pump while cranking - ~300-350 bar
- disconnected high pressure sensor (on rail) - not starting
- on easy start it turns on and goes off after couple seconds (works only on easy start).
No errors in ECU.
Any ideas? I'm out of them.
Thanks!

Could you link the thread? Thanks, I've been looking for it and found only thread according to the SID801A, where crystal was changed (I tested 2 ECUs - also the other with immo off at the other car and it fired out there).

If you have another car under hood fuse of box swap it
it must be. Same bsm5 or bsm2 etc
although not safe can you unbolt 1 injector and face upwards?

Got the car for a moment and only was able to test the ECU nothing else.
Was thinking about reversing the injector and check it out, don't have spare fuel pipes and don't want to damage the original (there is no easy way to do it).

Can you scope the injectors?
1) keep spraying easy start until it has run 69 seconds read fsfaults
2). Tow a shirt distances in gear, read codes

1) No codes
2) Towed it on 2nd and 3rd gear - no codes.
If you unplug anything it's getting faults so everything seems to be ok.
I also checked the compression, it's OK.
I've put 50kOhm into temperature plug what indicated -21 celcius degrees - car was cranking with white smoke - didn't start anyway.
Maybe something wrong with the head?

Wtf oh no, it's French. It defys logic as standard.
ok, yes it's common rail, yes you toeed it, yes you got white smoke and no brims.
exhayst not blocked as smoke comes out, white is ubburnt fuel.
ok. If you can, toe it in gear, with ignition on 1 click , idea so the engine is now an air compressed , warm up cyckinders then try starting.
siunds like glow work error, but common rail should start above 4 deg c with no heat, but the easy start should have worked.
si next plan is to check inlet manifold for them stupid swirl flaps, cutting off oxygen. Then check glow worm circuit out.
might help if you press's the thanksssssdsbuttton.

you need to check what is missing, looks like you checked most, if you have fuel pressure as above, and you have a test led flashing in injector socket, then fuel is defo being injected, if you have smoke from the back, then fuel is being burnt - looks like only 3 options left:
1: wrong fuel put in tank
2: EGR stuck open
3: Engine failure, ie head gasket etc
good luck

The upper camshaft cut the spline and turned 180 degrees and stuck - without any other damages.
I changed the sprocket (to the old one with plate for hall sensor) and put new cambelt and
on the new camshaft sprocket there is no synchro (I only got that sprocket).
Is there a way to cheat the synchronization or swap a dump for the old way to caluclate the synchro?
(I believe with the old sprocket was SID801A and EDC15C2 one plug, but I'm not sure)?
New sprocket (where the wedge was cut) - 11
Replaced with (no synchro) - 2+3
Thanks!

Wtf. How the hell did if manage to do run run on easy start. Without blowing the manifold off or Cauding g damages

You tell me, I'm suprised too, I checked the sprocket due to when I've checked the timing signs (finally, not much space in Partner) it did not match and oil level raised after week of working on it haha.
Btw, is there a way to cheat the sensor with different upper camshaft sprocket?

Nice to know you found the fault, but I would go get ori parts or you will have a long headache :)

ps - you damn luck you never blew off the inlet manifold with the easy start!!!

No idea about different sprocket

Going to get the correct sprocket tomorrow than, hope it fires up.
You should see my face when I discovered what's wrong.
Easy start + towing the car + cranking and it strength, lucky.

Ok if there was damage, the owner would have caused it anyway .
not nice that type of cringe worthy moment

Correct camshaft sprocket and it fired up without any problems, runs like new!
