Had a 2012 Mazda 6 2.2 diesel with 53 k and changed it to 19k to get sum warranty work carried out , when I took it to the Mazda dealer they were able to tell me original miles and refused to carry out the warranty work, do any of ye guys out tere know anything bout a Mazda second memory and if so , can this second memory be changed ???

either fault code miles log or ecu holds figure..dont know for sure.

yes always clear dtc , error codes , fault codes , they keep record of miles , eg mil light on at 45km

Doesn't matter what you clear mate, the Kim's are in the ECU on Mazda and need doing directly, had this problem with dealer warranty etc 3 yrs ago

mazdas not very much, probably around 250 US, but that was before knowing ECU must be done

WHAT IM SAYING IS ,THAT IF I COULD SORT ECU I COULD CHARGE MY CUSTOMER 300 EUROS

To my mind taking 34,000 off 53,000 for a warranty job is asking for trouble, ECU memory or not! Arthur.

from what years or what models does the ecu store mileage though? and is this petrol and diesel or diesel only?
