hi, i read a flash from st using fgtech and it gives a message regarding somethin to do with BDM first?
do i have to bdm ecu first? or can i just flash obd

I read using OBD with galletto then when I went to write the modified file it said write BDM once then it wrote file and car would not start.
I would BDM if I was u. My car was a focus ST 3

BDM first yeah. don t play with it. after taht u can read write via OBD.
Opening these ECUs is v difficult they are VERy glued. I was never able to reach the bosch pads on the other side of the ecu so i always use the first side normal BDm pads. Heres my video

FGTech will write over OBD no problem, the BDM read is insurance in case writing fails.

That's what happened to me when writing it failed and have error I had no BDM backup either

FGtech will not write every software version. I know as i tune a lot of these. Early software versions yes, but not the later ones.
