hi guys
my mates bmw got water damaged ecu
so he got a spare ecu same bmw/part numbers
he got some1 to BdM it and transfer data over to the new ecu.

the car would just turn and turn
so i used BMW explorer and checked for faults
cas said something about the EWS security !!
so this is what i did
firstly i checked injectors for their codes and programmed them into the ecu
then while in the ecu i read the ISN and saved on text pad
then went over to the cas and did a EVL reset
then went into ISN R/W then pasted the ECU ISN code in there as it will not let me do it the other way round.
both ISN codes now match up.

but still the car will not start

any other ideas ???
before he just buys replacement ECU/CAS/KEY/ring

thanks

dave

Something doesnt add up, if they did use a bdm to clone it all that should already match
