octavia 2011 egr valve fault code

hi programmed new miles , octavia 1.6diesel, egr has fault so needs to go back for warranty..
fault code for egr keeps comming back with old miles..
is there a way to clear code so it comes back with new miles..
tried clearing with vcds as soon as you start car fault comes back..
tried adapting as new no luck..

Need to use proper tool enigma etc by obd rather than just doing the dash

Try with another tool or disconnect battery and touch terminals for 10 seconds and see if that clears it.

try to reflash software in ecu it is only way except to change egr

its not the tool that causes the fault code...
the fault code is allready present before correction..
need to clear code as it has the old miles stored..
need a way to clear so fault comes back with new miles then it can go back and get new egr under warranty....
tried battery method no work..tried adapt as new with vcds ..not work..

If you don't sort and are desperate have you tried increasing mileage in ECU to something stupid like 887353 and see if it fault codes at high unbelievable error mileage that they would ignore? Or if your really really really desperate fry the ECU then with fingers toes and tweezers crossed take it in and get both under warranty?

problem is i have 2 of the same car both with same issue, egr gone...
mileage has just topped over warranty mileage....
i dont think ecu mileage is do-able on 2011 model..
does the fault take miles from speedo or ecu..
car has also other minor fault codes but when cleared appears back with new reading..
when you clear egr fault engine off ignition on..the fault is clear ..read again ecu no faults..
as soon as you fire up fault is back with old miles..

Do you have any equipment to read flash from ECU? Maybe you could get help in chiptuning or ECU forum to solve the error. Or maybe someone could make you egr off file and be done with egr for good. Just a thought.

Either your tool isn't clearing it correctly or you might be going the wrong way around it What tool are you using to clear fault code .?. Use odis to clear fault then try and adapting new one in so when it comes back it should have new km and today's date etc

don't start the engine until you have completed it , then go frack in and you should see the new mileage.
