Hi all friends, today i chiptune c30 Amg, connect magpro authentic to read out, impossible no connection with ecu edc15c6, i contact helpdesk, they says unsolder eprom...

i test read ecu with galletto v54, no c30 in menu, well, i read with c270 driver, all ok, save ORI 1mo

test to write my MOD file, 96% and fail, car don't start, ok....

rewrite ORI, fail at 56%, retest again and write 100% engine start...

i open ecu to look eprom and see it's 29f400 (theory 512ko file), i look ORI and MOD file, and i can see in hexa, 2x the same dump 512x2

Result: i mod the 1024ko in 512ko, calculate checksum and test program in obd with galletto, galletto erase eprom and after fail, restest write ORI in 1024 but fail...

open ecu unsolder eprom and write ORI, after connect in pinout on table , read identification all OK but when read, fail after 15% and after communication impossible, i unsolder again, read eprom and i can see dump change in 4 or 5 adress, i need need rewrite ORI to get communication

not tested restart engine because i can see fail when read, before ecu blocked never fail when reading...

what do you think for this strange problem?

Bad flash interface?
Have you tried to read the ecu removed from the car by k-line?

Yes, all test on table are in k-line with galletto v54 EU clone

update ecu via star and after unsolder eeprom and read via programtaror made tune and put all back.

Hi, here is some file from that car, test it, maybe will work. flash it wia programer.

Hi, iwrite ORI directly on Flash and test ecu on the car, when ignition on FAN engine run and car don't start, no communication with ecu on galletto on OBD

any idea, i need car restart!

boot mode can help me?

i work on ecu today, i think i know what is the problem....

when solder flash i use flux, i haven't seen but flux go inside component and when ecu is to 12v, in night, i have seen small spark on pin of component !!! 264038264038

I had strange ecu defects two weeks ago, done hundreds of similar jobs before.
When I tried to find the problem, I noticed that:
common thing for all these ecu malfunctions were, that I made soldering and used flux.
The new flux was different brand than before, and I noticed that "best before" date was gone time a go!
I measured flux with multimeter, and with ~0.5mm distance with test leads, it gave ~500ohm resistance!
Usually flux is not a problem, but I am almost sure that in my case it was... !

Measure resistance of your flux.

Yes maybe that is problem, this night, i clean board with aceton, connect ecu, and it works, can read and write...

i desolder again, to write MOD in the flash, use flux to do nice solder, clean all, retest, no communication, retest with ORI, no communication

i'm crazy...

its possible you have faulty flash chip or eeprom it can happen.

tested another flash, same problem, yesterday, i program flash with ORI, check solder...ecu rework

read flash with galletto, save OK, test to write MOD, fail, desolder flash, program ORI, test with galletto, no communication

i go to be crazy!

A very very small quantity flux has 200kohm-500kohm resistor!

i need clean all

in latest solution, is it possible adapt EDC15C6 of 270 cdi with different SW and HW?

i clean all board, do all solder, do again solder 29f400 with ORI inside, now ecu connect and can read flash by K-line with galletto, i think can start engine now, install in car and bye bye

many and many work for nothing, ecu is'nt chiptuned, no solution, tested program MOD file but 94% i have fail, after again the nightmare

Today, plug ecu on car, start OK!

drive 1km, engine stop...restart, wait 20 second, stop, restart, engine run 30 second and stop again

yesterday, i check and recheck solder, i think all is ok, what can be problem?

Still sounds like a bad contact. You could try to use a hot air station to find out if a part of the ecu is sensitive to temperature changes by leaving the car at idle with the ecu opened and slightly heating a part of the ecu.

Sounds like a checksum Problem. Only few software supports this special amg c30 ecu. It also has internel max value limit control. Most likely the tuning exceeds these values. Results of this are the same like checksum problem. Post full car error scan with DAS and post your tuning here.

it's the ORI in ecu, i think HARDWARE problem...

i need specialist repair ecu professional, do you know where i can send my ecu?

Solved, flux resistance problem!!!!

Was you able to tune this Car?

I have tuned an C30 amg to 275hp maybe 2 months ago. I had the same problem - flash read ok with galletto and kess, but nor of them can upoad the modified file back to the ECU.
For me it was not a hardware problem. MPPS, Galletto and KESS were unable to do it the OBD way or bench direct connection. The only solution was to upload it in boot mode with MPPS. The C30 AMG EDC15C6 is a bit different than other Mercs. Only succesfull file upload is in boot mode with manually corrected checksum. I seriousy doubt it is a HW problem. Good luck.

so it means MPPS -> Boot modus / generic Bosch EDC15cx right
i tried to read and write via ODB -> Failed
ODB Read Out 1 MB ... can i Modify this file and write via boot or should make boot read , mod n write ?

Read is ok both ways. Write is problematic when OBD. So write it in Generic -> EDC15Cx boot mode :) It will work you will see.

i had same problem on different ecu using weller flux ... after cleaning and soaking in isopropyl alcohol all is ok
now im back to different brand flux and no problems whatsoever

use "no clean" flux from proven brands, few bucks more for a lot of saved time and headache
