SVDI/FVDI, always desolder and read Eeprom 24cXX and save as original.bin
Then enter "service mode" directly or by load Eeprom file and then save and program back to dash and after that enter "Service mode"
I sometimes get "error" but then I program Eeprom to original agin and start dash and enter "service mode" and do programing.
Sometimes it`s a hell to get in to dash, but always save Eeprom_original.bin

Lupu_sandu is a king on dash! he has help me many times!
