View Full Version : 2006 Merc A170 One touch start not working

If you flick the key it gives a short crank, if you hold the key on start for 4 seconds it cranks fine and starts. Transmission says P position "fault" but recognises all other gear positions. ESL module now gives correct positions after fitting a used part. No amount of cable adjustment can get trans to recognise Park. Are the ecus in the trans and are they prone to failure? Merc dealer tells me shifter positions are not programmable at all.

Thanks, it looks to me though that this is for the 168 chassis, mine is 169
