WTF that unusual, how they work sounds like a minimum of two faults. French crap, there was another thread about these you will find usefull

And the fun begins when you realize how much car you have to take apart just to look at the parts you need to replace:top:

faulty heat resistor or melted plug, possibly both, easiest way to access this is to take out instrument cluster and drivers side of heater box half way down you'll see it held in with 1 t25 or 30 torx.

I may have something to add....

Nil poi if his knob has numbers on it

If that's the case we are writing about....Nil poi melted plug... the wires go straight to blower...

on the other side of the dashboard.....

like gynekologist ?

chris..its easy task once when you have parts in close to youre eyes..first look for resistor pack..there is 3 resistor in network..switch is easy task to remove and measure on his pins, you hae one slider contact and 4 points...one is full speed of blower..im prety sure you resistor pack is burned..but on french sometime only conector on resistorr is melted..first find resistor/regulator

a new resistor and the modified wiring plug for it, it doubles up the power wire so it dosnt get so hot and melt the pin/connector
