HAZARD'S V+ GUIDE (SA8300)
Credit: w**********s.co.uk

1. Connect the coax cable to the SA8300.

2. Hold the 'OK' & 'Standby' buttons down and connect the power cable.
(When the box displayes an update message on the screen release the
buttons and wait.)

3. Once the box has updated you need to unplug the power cable.

4. Run 'NetIDv2.1.7.exe' and enter the information needed.
(Refure to 'NetIDv2.1.7.rtf' and 'Virgin Media NetID's.rtf' to help
assist you.)

5. Send the 'Flash', 'Internal' & 'External' eeprom information to
either a 'Fun Card' or a 'ATMega Card'.

6. Insert the card into the box. (Slot is on the rear) and set the
channel to BBC1.

7. Leave the box along for 10-20 minutes to allow the keys to update.

If all has gone well then you should now have a modded SA8300 box.

to format the Hard Drive, use the REMOTE CONTROL to carry out the steps
- this key sequence needs to be a fairly rapid succession of key presses,
taking less than 10 seconds
- if STOP or QUIT appears, you will need to start the process again.

Please perform the following keystrokes:

Press the HOME button
Press down the PLAY button for 5 SECONDS (E-00 appears on the display)
Press the TVDRIVE button (E-01 appears on the
display)
Press the CH- button 4 TIMES (As you do this hdd1,
hdd2, hdd3 then hdd4 will appear on the display)

Reformatting will then begin and r F t will appear on the display.
Upon completion (up to 5-8 minutes depending on how full the hard drive is)
the TVDrive will reboot.

If the above does not work then you will need to re'set the net id to the right area (this is why its just spinning numbers) then it will download the firmware.

you will need to re'prog or blank/replace the 512 chip from the underside of the motherboard then (if new or blank) use the method above to set it up.

If you re'prog the chip with the right net id then you just need to boot the box up and away you go.
