Mercedes E270 CDI W211

Good Day All,

I've got a Mercedes E270 CDI which wont start.

It unlocks, sat nav/radio turns on, lights turn on, all electrics turn on as they should but as I turn the key there is no noise from the starter, nothing, not even a click...I've put a wire from the starter directly but no luck...

Warning lights come up saying:


SRS Restraint system defective
ESP not available
Malfunction, electrical consumers switched off


I assume these are due to the battery being low, which is why I changed the battery....but still no luck!!!
Can anybody advise what I can try?
Is there a possibility that the battery is coded to the car? Or even the immobiliser is activated?
The car locks and unlocks from the fob.

Key turn in ezs? yes key turn in ignition ESL unlocks
Glow plug light on and off when key on ? Glowplug light goes on and off when turn on ignition .
Engine crank when put a wire direct to start ?Engine cranks when put wire direct to starter . Sometimes starts also and runs if you have Your timing right to put wire while turning key to start .

I post here all my files i have off this car and some screenshots .

I am now going to try a full working file set on car as i do not know what to do anymore ..:stoned:

Did virgin of ecu and coded with DAS but is exact same as before M8's

Hi All,

Thank you for all the advice, I have been away from internet access since my last post.

You will not believe this, I went through all the fuses again this morning and I found fuse K58 was defective....I replaced it and all errors have disappeared except for SRS...The Merc is also pulling like a beast whereas before it felt like a bicycle. Very strange...but happy she's driving fine, I'm going to check under seat for loose connections concerning the SRS light or what is your take?

Pierre,it looks like you dont have start authorization from gearbox.
Did you scan EGS?

Friend I have a like same problem car won't to start on ingnition only from direct wire form starter and you will not belive, in trunk there is be some fuse which is blown I replace it and car start perfect, first check your fuse, this be on w203 problem, maybe you have also same problem, why not check.

Am busy making up new fileset for this car first .
Have checked fuses again today .
forgot to mention that starter does kick in for 1 second if you turn the key very quick .
Will get back to this vehicle on Monday.

Smayer i believed you on this .

I had to get another car to proof it .

Best off all i had to go and fetch this other W211 E270 about 150 km away from here .
Took me the whole morning to get the suspension to lift before i could drive it back . (Seems it got faulty relay for air suspension )

So transfered ecu sets between cars only to proof that we had faulty switch in gearbox for starting circuit .
