i am looking for a good master tool,

90% of Tuning companies just now working with CMD because they say everything is working to 100%.

kess has a lot of bugs, people also say x17 protocolls are almost the same as from kess

stores cmd 'bin files in different format

If you are a professional tuner you will not focus on one tool. You will have several.
There is no tool that will do all cars.

Hi
I have original cmdtec, fgtech, x17 and byteshooter.
Depending on the interface, the reading can vary in size, or area as read map, but if you are master interface, all files read are in the same format
You can modify any read of any interface.

How is everyone finding this? Is it working well or is there a few ecu's needing recovered. I haven't had the chance to use it much yet.

MPPS , FGTECH, KESS V2 and K-TAG is what i use on a daily basis. My favorite is MPPS because it is the fastest OBD tool for 1.8T me7.5 ecus and can clear the flash counter as well. Most of the time i do big turbo 1.8t cars and its great to have a fast and reliable tool to work with.
I would go for MPPS v18 + tricore plugin for my first tool. It is my favorite tool for vags....

i also have mpps genuine, v54 eu clone, ktag clone,
kess v2 and new katg in arrival.
i really think that v54 and ktag are good combination.

Hi friend
I have cmdtec original from year 2006.
I write many EDC17 by obd, vag, bmw, etc.
But tricore protected versions, you can only do for obd with cmdtec from the day August 15, 2014.

Hi
Yes, but only obd cars protocols.
Not bdm, tricore, boot or protocols for trucks, etc.
