On the passenger side of my car the wheel nut thread tightens to the right
Is this correct or should it be a left handed thread?

Right for all wheels.

nope, many of the mazdas and ford use left hand thread on one side. Over in aus we have many like that but some of the same cars use all right hand threads, basically it can be either

That is crazy because my wheel n brake disc hub loosen/falls off from the drive shaft

Because of this i have screwed another wheel nut up against the original to stop it from undoing

This must be the company's way of saving a few bucks especially as there isn't a fail safe either like a split pin

Should i call the company and ask them if its there goal is to create accidents?

Sorry I was speaking for Europe.
If you call they will not listen to you. Try with an e-mail.
Btw can you give me the model of the vehicle so I can see if I have torque value for your nut.
Do you have a torque wrench or do you tight by hand?

something not right there you said hubnut on driveshaft which can be a nylock nut big bar to tighten as no idea of torque.
also you may have a tap over head into recess of driveshaft to lock in position or nut used with splitpin to stop it working loose
how you used a wheel nut i have no idea.
if hubnut got that loose consider new wheel bearing needed.

Something wrong.
Not tight enough or the threads are damaged.

they are set up so they would tighten when driving, thats why one side is oppossite to the other, and they usually have some retaining method, a split pin or a nut that you peen over into a groove

oh and ring a manufaturer to let them know they made a mistake?.............good luck with that

Bingo! Same family as mine (I got the '92 'Wagen.)
Same engine.
So:

Front hub:
Use new nut.
1)200Nm
2)Slacken off
3) 50Nm
4) 45 degrees

Rear hub:
Use new nuts/bolts.
175Nm

------------------------
Road Wheels: 110Nm

Why off the road in 2 weeks? Engine problem or simply new car time?

underline engine issue with cylinder 1 - keeps gacking up the sparkplug
6 months ago i replaced the exhaust valve on cylinder one
needs new :- wheels, tyres, brake discs n pads, exhaust system, engine temp sensor, tracking, rear wheels hubs, clutch plate and maybe more that i haven't found yet

just too expensive to fix n to old really
would like something faster

will be braking the car for parts
