View Full Version : 2007 BMW 320D (177bhp) EDC17 error writing tuned file

had one of these cars today sent file off to my tuner who tuned the file but upon writing when it got to 100% it said error rewrite original file and turn off dashboard. when I rewrote original file car started ok. im using fgtech galetto v54. I attatch the original and modified read along with a screenshot of the error. any help appreciated

had same problem some time ago, you need to make this car in boot mode than will work

if edc17cp02/06 is ok to write with obd.

Well the original file wrote back fine

yes,if there is a problem just go boot mode,if you sure your file is good.

The file has been done using swiftec software

if edc17cp02/06 is ok to write with obd.


if car has been updated at bmw then it's tprot
need to been turned off to do it obd

When is file make in Swiftec it means it is OK? Pretty crappy file. Car has TPROT so make it in BOOT MODE with better file :)

you can not set torque request to 475 nm if you dont unlock all torque block to 420 nm (8 and 16 bit)...the 3 mod are completely wrong

this SW have tp 2-3 and can be done by obd without problem.

maybe your problem is your tool

My tool write back the original file fine. Maybe the modified file is wrong as u say

That's not necessarily true, there're tools that writhe these ecus by OBD like carmageddon said, if it writes back the original file it means you've to donut by boot with your tool.

I haven't see the file, but I dont think that's the problem.

If you read ECU by OBD - file has 2,00MB and you can write only ORI
If you read ECU boot mode- file has 1,46MB and you can write MOD
If mod file is wrong the car will start but sometimes it loses power (DTC - P061B)

checksum problem for sure know problem for fgtech try correct by winols and write then

need calc. cheksum only whith fgtech do not calcul winols or swiftec! work 100%

Checksum done with winols...

it think will not work also with cks done by winols, i made same think same problem. I must made this ecu in boot mode
