Hi guys,

I have a Transit imported from UK limited to 60miles .
What is the common speed limiter units used in UK, or should i look for limitation in ECU?

Regards

As far as I know, IDS is the only tool to take this off. Some tools SAY they can but in practice they cannot.

That year is normally in the pcm flash, ids would probably be the best bet for this. The dealers around my way don't charge much to do these. The 2007 models can be done with dec superscan normally.

2003 model needs a full reflash with ids, during the procedure it asks about speed limiter,
autoboss and other tools cannot help you on this you need good knowledge with IDS only

Thanks guys, unfortunately my VCM just decided to fry itself while connected to the car.
Will have to wait for new unit.

No need to fully reflash with ids if you read the parameters from the pcm you can the just change speed limiter yes to no and write it back takes about 5 mins with ids

Does anybody know if Fo-com can do this? Whether early or late models.

@Cleevesy Can you explain more how your method works, usually do this as Kevfield says but can take a while.
